Kids Photography | Gabriella 9 Months
My parents tell me that I was pretty mellow as a child. Maybe they’re just being nice, or have selective memory, but it makes me think about how much our personality shines through even when we’re little tots. Take Gabriella for instance. I’ve been taking photos of Gabriella since she was only 6 weeks old and I can tell that when she grows up, she’s going to be just as relaxed and laid-back as she is now. To me, she’s perfect. I know a lot of that comes from her amazing parents, but it’s still fun to witness. She is such a sweetheart. And yes to all that have commented, she DOES have the cutest collection of flower headbands I have ever seen! :)

Walnut Creek Engagement | Sarah & Mike
I spent most of my childhood growing up in Walnut Creek and moved back here with Chris about 5 years ago. I really love this city. I love how the trees on Main Street are studded with white twinkle lights that glow all year-round. I love how the creek itself quietly meanders throughout the city, popping up here and there in subtle places. And I love how every time I venture out, I discover little details that I had never noticed before. Although the weather was rather chilly and overcast, Chris and I had so much fun wandering around downtown Walnut Creek with Sarah and Mike for their engagement session. I was amazed at all the secret pathways and uniquely intriguing spaces we ran across. They’re an incredible couple who are each so wonderful to be around. We can’t wait to see them again for their big day!

Wedding Photography | Summer & Boyd
When I first started accepting wedding commissions, I did so hesitantly. As a portrait photographer, the idea of covering an all-day event, such as a wedding, never really appealed to me. But as time went by and people continued to ask about wedding photography, I decided to give it a try. With Chris as my 2nd shooter, we photographed a small handful of weddings just to get a feel for the industry. Little did we know how much we would enjoy it!
Fast forward to today, and we are now two photographers sharing equal duties at every wedding. We’re quite a team (if I do say so myself!) and I couldn’t imagine ever shooting a wedding without Chris. So we decided to make it official… I’m pleased to announce the launch of our new photography brand exclusively for weddings – Summer & Boyd:
We are so excited to offer wedding photography coverage – it is truly a joy! 2010 is going to be an amazing year. And don’t worry, Ashley Summer Photography isn’t going anywhere – I will continue to photograph portraits, kids, and boudoir. Stay tuned for lots of updates and a few changes around the site.
