Chris and I aren’t big party people. Our weeks are so busy that when we finally get some downtime, all we want to do is plop down on the couch and relax. Whether that means watching a movie or cracking open a bottle of wine and playing a board game, it’s our chance to wind down and spend some “non-work” time together. (The wine tends to be a backwards step for me when it comes to Scrabble, but that’s beside the point.) When Lauren and Tony mentioned they wanted some photos of themselves playing board games, a favorite past-time of theirs, we knew we would have a great time with them. And we did! We shot their session at a beautiful home in the Malibu hills overlooking the ocean. And when the sun started to set, we made our way down to El Matador State Beach where Lauren and Tony impressed us by kicking off their shoes and wading into the freezing water. Now that is dedication!
Clayton Engagement | Jenny & Matt
Chris and I were unpacking our camera gear when we heard it – the slow, steady purr of what could only be a vintage classic came rolling down the street. Heads turned, eyes bulged, and I’m pretty sure some women fainted… Jenny and Matt had arrived. Now, I’m not a big car buff, but seeing this beauty in person (not to mention the handsome couple inside) was a real treat. Needless to say, the shoot was a breeze. When working with such an awesome couple, it’s easy to just relax, have fun, and enjoy the whole experience. We couldn’t have asked for more. (On second thought, we probably should have requested a quick spin around the block!)
Walnut Creek Engagement | Kacey & Ryan
Chris and I love photography. That’s a given. But when we’re blessed with such awesome clients, like Kacey and Ryan, who can have as much fun with it as we do, our job just doesn’t get any better! It was an incredible afternoon in Walnut Creek. We hiked through the hills and rolled around in the tall grass. Kacey and Ryan are so lucky to have found one another. Not only do they constantly make each other laugh, but you can just feel the love and affection as they gaze into each other’s eyes. We had so much fun spending the afternoon with them, and can’t wait for the day they say, “I do.” :)
Fremont Engagement | Ming & Hiro
I don’t know what it is that I love so much about farmers markets. Maybe it’s all the beautiful colors and textures, the community coming together to support locally grown food, or maybe it’s just that I get to carry around a cute little green bag. Whatever it may be, when Ming and Hiro suggested having their engagement session themed around food and cooking, we were beyond excited! And the best part? They cooked us lunch! It doesn’t get much better than that. Thanks again you two – we had a blast!!
Livermore Engagement | Ashley & Scott
First of all, I just have to say again what truly amazing clients we have. Another example? Ashley and Scott. For their engagement shoot, we spent the afternoon at Concannon Vineyard in Livermore Valley – the spot where Scott proposed. The vineyards are gorgeous this time of year, as the leaves start to turn colors. The perfect setting! Not only was the scenery gorgeous, but getting to spend the afternoon with Ashley and Scott was a real treat. Both of them are so much fun to be around and we are soooo excited to shoot their wedding next year in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. And the kicker? Chris and I got married just up the beach from where they’ll be saying, “I Do”. How awesome is that? :)
