Destination Wedding Riviera Maya | Our Wedding!

We’ve been so fortunate to have such wonderful couples ask us to be a part of their wedding day, that we thought we would share ours with you. Chris and I were married in August, 2006 in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. We stayed at The Royal in Playa Del Carmen, which was a wonderful hotel. My Aunt’s family rented a private villa in Playa Del Secreto, just up the beach, where we had our wedding ceremony. It was a small, intimate gathering, with the beautiful Caribbean ocean as our backdrop. Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. Our destination wedding was a wonderful experience – not to mention an awesome vacation! Many thanks to our wedding photographers Matt & Sol of Del Sol Photography. Not only did they capture our destination wedding perfectly, but they inspired our very own wedding photography career. We absolutely love those guys!

Muir Woods Park | Mill Valley, California

Northern California is home to many incredible landmarks. Although I’ve lived here my whole life, there are still so many places I haven’t visited (including Muir Woods). So when Chris and I got the invitation to go hiking in Muir Woods with some friends, we were all over it! I had always heard how beautiful it was, but seeing it in person is truly amazing. Armed with lots of sunscreen and snacks – we set off to go hiking! Hope you enjoy the photos:

This was about the time I thought I was going to die – and the water ran out. Had I known we weren’t even REMOTELY close to the top I would have just turned around. I would LOVE to have a word with all those people coming down who told us, “Oh…umm… it’s not THAT far…” … Yeah. Not that I’m complaining. Actually, yes, I am.

The Ranch!

Alright, I’ve made a pact with myself to start including more personal photos on the blog. This weekend my amazing husband and photo partner, Chris and I joined some friends down at a family ranch in Livermore off the 5 freeway. Aside from the ridiculous heat and sheer amount of dirt that made it into my shoes, I have to say it was awesome – great company and beautiful scenery! We spent the day eating killer food, practicing target shooting (after which I have come to accept the fact that I will never be a sharp shooter for the CIA), off-roading in the mountains, and piddling around in a beat up golf cart. I’m not sure it gets any better than that! And as a side note, I realize this post is rather long but I couldn’t help but include some snapshots of the adorable animals that were living there. :)
