Jackie Luckett

November 15, 2008

These last two weeks have been a real treat!  We were asked to take some promotional photos of author Jackie Luckett for her up coming book, Searching For Tina Turner.  We broke the shoot up into two sessions, one week apart, to get some variety and have more options when it came down to selecting the final images.  We used a beauty dish for some fill, but relied predominately on the available natural light to produce a well-rounded, soft image.  We were able to get some really nice images while having a lot of fun in the meantime!  Jackie is a total sweetheart and she is so fun to be around!

Searching For Tina Turner is to be published by Grand Central Publishing in January 2010.  Here is a short summary of the novel:

“Lena Harrison Spencer is in her mid-fifties, and the time has come for her to face the hard truths of what is means to have it all and still find oneself unfilled.  Lena determines that what she needs is the strength to change directions and Tina Turner becomes the icon from whose story she derives strength, even as everyone else tells her she’s crazy for giving up her cashmere cocoon.”
